Pro-Crypto PAC Endorses Andrew Cuomo in NYC Mayoral Race Against Zohran Mamdani

A political action group focused on digital innovation, Innovate NY, has officially endorsed former New York Governor Andrew Cuomo in the city’s mayoral race.

The organization, which identifies as “pro-digital assets,” has reportedly raised around $100,000 to support candidates who advocate for blockchain, tokenization, AI, and stablecoin-related policies.

According to filings with the New York City Campaign Finance Board, Innovate NY spent $30,000 on promotional materials backing Cuomo while opposing Democratic frontrunner Zohran Mamdani.

Crypto’s Growing Influence in New York Politics

The endorsement highlights how digital asset advocacy is becoming increasingly influential in major political races.

New York City’s mayoral election — with early voting already underway — has drawn significant attention from the crypto community due to the city’s role as a global financial hub.

Voters will choose between Mamdani, Cuomo, and Republican candidate Curtis Sliwa on November 4.

Cuomo Pledges Innovation-Focused Policies

In his campaign’s final weeks, Cuomo has focused heavily on innovation and technology, pledging to form an Innovation Council with dedicated advisory committees for crypto, AI, and biotechnology if elected.

His approach contrasts sharply with Mamdani’s, whose campaign centers on cost-of-living issues such as childcare and affordable housing, with little mention of digital asset policy.

Eric Adams’ Legacy and Crypto Push

Current Mayor Eric Adams, who has served since 2022, made crypto adoption a hallmark of his administration.

He hosted a crypto summit, established a digital advisory council, and even proposed Bitcoin-backed municipal bonds.

In September, Adams announced he would not seek re-election, leaving an opening for a successor to continue — or pivot away from — his pro-blockchain agenda.

The winner of the 2025 mayoral race will assume office on January 1, 2026, and their stance on crypto could shape New York City’s regulatory and innovation landscape for years to come.
