Williams confirmed her comeback to professional tennis on June 1, accepting a wild-card invitation to compete at the HSBC Championships in London.
The announcement comes nearly four years after the tennis icon made her emotional exit from the sport at the 2022 U.S. Open, stunning fans worldwide.
Williams has won 23 major singles titles, 73 career singles titles, and 14 major doubles titles alongside her sister Venus Williams during her legendary career.

Since retiring, Williams has channeled her energy into business ventures including her beauty brand WYN, her fashion line S by Serena, and a steadily growing real estate portfolio.
Her property investments span Florida, California, and Europe, with the combined portfolio estimated at $35 million and reflecting decades of strategic acquisitions.
Williams and her sister Venus purchased their first notable property together in 1998, buying an acre of land in BallenIsles Country Club in Palm Beach Gardens, Florida, for $525,000, before listing it for $2,695,000 in 2018 and selling it for $2.3 million in early 2019.
In 2006, Williams acquired a 6,101-square-foot Mediterranean-style mansion in Bel-Air, Los Angeles for $6.62 million, later selling the six-bedroom estate in 2019 for $8.1 million.
Williams also purchased a two-bedroom pied-à-terre in Paris’ 7th arrondissement in 2007, with Eiffel Tower views, serving as her European base during French Open seasons.
In 2017, she bought her primary residence in Jupiter, Florida for $5.7 million, later investing millions more in a full renovation led by Venus Williams’ interior design firm, V Starr.
The redesigned Spanish Mediterranean home features a gym, sauna, wine cellar, a 620-square-foot boutique-style closet, and a secret karaoke room named “Sérénade” with neon signs and plush seating.
Williams spoke about the renovation during a 2021 Architectural Digest interview, saying: “I was moving away from Venus for the first time in my life, so I wanted it to be really meaningful.”
Also in 2017, Williams purchased a five-bedroom, seven-bathroom Mediterranean home in Beverly Hills for $6.7 million, featuring a chef’s kitchen, massage room, and yoga room in the Summit Estates gated community.
In 2020, she expanded her Florida holdings further by acquiring a 10,433-square-foot riverfront estate in Jupiter, complete with an infinity pool, guesthouse, and combined tennis and basketball court.
Venus Williams and her firm V Starr also transformed that Jupiter riverfront property into an ultramodern retreat, including a karaoke room hidden behind a secret bookcase door.
