Justin Trudeau Buys $3.1 Million Montreal Mansion With Katy Perry’s Future Visits In Mind

Former Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau has purchased a $3.1 million Montreal mansion, with sources claiming he hopes singer Katy Perry will move in part-time.

Trudeau, 54, closed on the nearly century-old stone property in the upscale Outremont neighborhood after securing a mortgage through the Bank of Montreal.

He purchased the home in mid-January for $4.26 million CAD, with public records confirming the deal was finalized on February 16.

Built in 1931, the 4,965-square-foot stone mansion sits on a 13,672-square-foot lot in the shadow of Mount Royal.

The property features seven bedrooms, five bathrooms, a sophisticated office, a lavish ballroom, a two-car garage, and a gated driveway.

The home is shielded from public view by a metal fence, mature trees, and several shrubs, offering considerable privacy for the former politician.

Sources told Us Weekly that Trudeau purchased the dwelling with Perry, 41, specifically in mind, hoping she would agree to spend significant time there with him.

“Justin is showing Katy his new home,” a source told Us Weekly, adding, “He wants her to live part of the year with him.”

“It’s large enough for a blended family, and in a prestigious neighborhood where he used to live,” the same source added.

The property sits close to the home Trudeau previously shared with his former wife, Sophie Grégoire Trudeau, offering familiar surroundings for the ex-prime minister.

Perry’s potential move-in faces a significant complication, as her life and family responsibilities remain firmly rooted in Montecito, California.

Perry reportedly spends most of her time in California, where her daughter Daisy attends school and where she maintains a co-parenting arrangement with former fiancé Orlando Bloom, 49.

A second source indicated that Perry and Bloom have a “good rhythm with coparenting,” making California the natural center of her day-to-day life.

Perry is understood to have moved into a sprawling Montecito mansion she and Bloom were renovating before their split, complete with a playground for their daughter.

Sources suggest Trudeau is not asking Perry to abandon California entirely, but rather hopes she could divide her time between the two locations.

A second source said Perry and Trudeau are happily “navigating a long-distance relationship,” which they insisted “hasn’t been an issue” for the couple.

The insider added, “They’ve found a rhythm that works and make a point to see each other as often as possible.”

During a recent Montreal visit, the couple reportedly spent time shopping for groceries, attending dinner gatherings, taking walks around the city, and seeing friends.

Trudeau publicly introduced Perry as his “partner” on December 4, 2025, just before Perry went Instagram official with her Canadian boyfriend, and the pair have since appeared regularly together.

Dating rumors first emerged in July after the two were spotted sharing a meal in Montreal, just one month after Perry’s split from Bloom was publicly revealed.
