“If Florida thought the story that Byron ‘dropped’ me was true, he would lose the Election, and that would be a terrible thing because he’s going to be a fantastic Governor!” Trump wrote in the post.
The changes to Donalds’s campaign website were notable, including the removal of a top banner that had urged supporters to “chip in to support Trump Endorsed Byron Donalds.”
The homepage now leads with the slogan “Fighting to defend the Florida dream,” with a rotating list of endorsements displayed below, including the president’s name.
Trump’s Truth Social post included a screenshot of Donalds’s own response to the media reports, in which the gubernatorial candidate defended his relationship with the president.
Donalds stated in that response that he was “proud to have” Trump’s endorsement and included a photo of the two men together behind the Resolute desk.
