RTX (NYSE: RTX) Surges On Earnings Beat And Raised Full-Year Guidance

RTX Corporation (NYSE: RTX) posted third-quarter results that cleared analyst expectations on both earnings and revenue, lifting shares 2.2% in premarket trading.

The aerospace and defense giant reported adjusted earnings per share of $2.26, beating the analyst consensus of $1.78 by $0.48 per share.

Revenue for the quarter reached $25.0 billion, topping estimates of $24.09 billion and representing an 11% increase from the prior year’s $22.5 billion.

RTX credited double-digit organic sales growth across both its commercial aerospace and defense segments for driving the strong quarterly performance.

The company also noted a contribution of $0.25 per share from IEEPA cost recovery as part of the factors behind the earnings outperformance.

RTX raised its full-year 2026 adjusted EPS guidance to a range of $7.65 to $7.75, with a midpoint of $7.70 that exceeds the analyst consensus of $7.25.

The company also lifted its full-year revenue outlook to a range of $97.0 billion to $97.5 billion, compared to prior analyst estimates of $96.2 billion.

“Our strong execution and operational focus in the third quarter enabled RTX to deliver double-digit organic sales growth across commercial aerospace and defense,” said RTX Chairman and CEO Chris Calio.

“Given our performance year to date, we are again raising our full year outlook for adjusted sales, adjusted EPS, and free cash flow,” Calio added.

RTX reported a record backlog of $340 billion, comprising $176 billion in commercial orders and $164 billion in defense contracts.

Collins Aerospace sales rose 10% to $8.4 billion, driven by 23% growth in commercial OE and 9% growth in commercial aftermarket activity.

Pratt & Whitney revenue climbed 10% to $9.2 billion, while Raytheon sales advanced 14% to $8.0 billion during the quarter.

The broad-based strength across all three business segments reinforced confidence in the company’s ability to sustain momentum through the remainder of the fiscal year.
