The White House aired a taxpayer-funded advertisement during commercial breaks of at least two NFL games on Sunday, CNN reported.
The ad featured imagery of President Trump walking through a hall accompanied by a voiceover of the president declaring, “this is the final battle.”
The commercial aired during Fox’s broadcasts of the Washington Commanders-Seattle Seahawks matchup as well as the Carolina Panthers-Cleveland Browns game.
It opens with a series of black-and-white images of Trump before transitioning to footage of him at political rallies and White House events.
The ad promises to “defeat communism, socialism and Marxism” and boasts Trump’s “largest tax cuts in history” while vowing to “defend law and order and police.”
The commercial is nearly identical to a campaign video Trump shared on Truth Social in 2024 while he was running for president for a third time.
It also featured a message from UFC CEO Dana White, who praised Trump as the “toughest, most resilient person” he has ever met.
According to AdImpact, the ad has cost taxpayers more than $362,000 so far, airing across NFL games on Sunday and during “Fox News Sunday.”
Lawmakers from both sides of the aisle have expressed concern about taxpayer money funding the advertisements, particularly with the midterm elections just weeks away.
Critics have slammed the commercial as propaganda, with Florida Democrats chair Nikki Fried saying, “Took this one right out of the Florida Republican playbook.”
The Trump administration has drawn widespread attention for broadcasting ads featuring the president just over a month before the November midterms.
The timing has intensified scrutiny from both political opponents and some Republican lawmakers uncomfortable with public funds being used for what critics describe as campaign-style messaging.
