Phil Godlewski says Victor Wembanyama got him thrown out of the Ritz-Carlton the same night New York needed the Spurs star most. The hotel never said who had the other suite.
He goes by Phil Godlewski online.Content out of Pennsylvania, live streams, big following. He didn’t deny it when The Post found him.
A $750,000 Night At MSG
Along with his friend Ron Pavalonis and Pavalonis’ child, he was present with his two sons, ages nine and eleven. He informed The Post that he spent $750K only on the night’s tickets.
Booked one of the penthouses on the 41st floor at the Ritz on West 28th in NoMad. Two suites on that whole floor. Hotel took his money, put them in one, said nothing about next door. Wemby had the other.

It was around 5 in the afternoon. Pavalonis was coming back down the hall when Wemby’s door opened. He figured the guy was heading to the Garden, so he said something.
“I just simply say, ‘Good luck tonight, big guy.’ Because at the end of the day, for me, I am a superfan of sports,” Pavalonis said.
Ten minutes, then the knock.

Then A Manager Knocked
She told Godlewski the group had to clear the floor. Hotel got a complaint, according to him, that his party was out in the hall waiting near players’ rooms. He asked for security footage.
No cameras on that floor, she said. He looked up and there’s one right above her head in the hallway. He said he’s already got a lawyer involved.
He paid twenty thousand dollars for the suite.
He said calling it harassment is a lie. “Slanderous” was the word he used.

Same Week Wemby Turned New York Against Him
A Spurs fan got assaulted after Game 3. Wembanyama shoved Knicks guard Jalen Brunson that game too. By Game 4 he was the most disliked person in the building.
Godlewski said he got it, the hotel was nervous. But if protecting the player was the actual goal, buying out the floor was the obvious move. Instead Wemby ended up one door over from a family that had nothing to do with any of it.
Nobody Said Anything At Check-In
Nobody flagged a player was on their floor when they checked in. No warning, no conditions on the room. Godlewski told The Post if someone had said something, the whole group would’ve stayed put until Wemby was gone.
“Not only did they not block out the hotel, but they put us on the same frigging floor as Victor Wembanyama,” he said. “What sense does that make? If you don’t want anyone near the Spurs, don’t book the penthouse directly next to him.”
He moved to the Trump International on Central Park West. Paid three grand for the room instead.
The Jersey Didn’t Make It Home

His 11 year old burned the jersey. Had it signed and framed on the bedroom wall. Worth $3.5K.
In the car to the Garden, the kid asked his dad if they could burn it when they got home. He’d had Wemby stuff up on his wall since the kid was in third grade.
They burned it when they got back.
The RitzCarlton had no comment. Wembanyama reps didn’t return calls.
